Organizational Background: Council for A Better Louisiana is a nonprofit, nonpartisan statewide organization that works on issues in the public interest. It does this by raising citizen awareness, advancing sound public policies, holding government accountable, and fostering civic leadership. CABL values cultural diversity within its programs, and is dedicated to seeking and advocating for solutions that will move Louisiana forward. Participating in both prior MAA phases, CABL focused on providing candidates for statewide office and the LA legislature with accurate, salient information regarding academic assessment and the state’s accountability system.
Project: The Council for a Better Louisiana developed a backgrounder on the policies and practices the state and school districts have maintained for the past two decades around assessment and accountability, sharing the primer with newly elected state legislators and Board of Elementary and Secondary Education members via the Louisiana Reset communications campaign.
