Organizational Background: Boys & Girls Clubs focus on academic achievement, healthy lifestyles and character development for young people from six to 18. The Clubs’ youth development professionals provide programming that includes arts, athletics, and homework help. Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio serve Cleveland, the Western Reserve (Greater Akron), Lorain County and Erie County.
Project: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio implemented the “Summer Brain Gain,” a high-activity summer series of lessons for 400 participating youth from ages 6 to 18 to curtail summer learning loss in literacy, mathematics, and science.
